I’ve been using my Aguilar TH500 for years. I love the warm, full-bodied sound it produces while maintaining the punch, clarity, and power of a solid-state amp. So, I wanted to create a preset on the HX Stomp that had these characteristics. In addition to the amp, I added all the effects and options I need, so now I have a pedalboard and an Aguilar amp with me, all in one HX Stomp. It's a great all-arounder! I've also put together a preset featuring a full rig (amp + cab), inspired by a modern combination that I've used and liked for years.

I wanted to:

• Create a focused yet warm solid-state amp character
• Use the natural amp compression
• Drive the amp to the edge of breakup to achieve a tube-like grit, depending on how hard you dig into the strings
• Integrate a Noble DI to warm up the sound
• Add main effects like an octaver, boost (FS4), drive, and chorus (FS5) to cover almost everything a bassist needs

The 'Aguilar AMP' preset works great with an amp on stage, with IEMs, and for recording. It sits well in the mix and gives you the feeling of an amp while maintaining the benefits of a direct signal. The 'Aguilar RIG' is ideal for anyone who likes to use full rig sounds for live shows with IEMs or for recording.

In my opinion, the Tone Hammer amp in the HX Stomp is definitely an underrated secret weapon!
